Once a week. That is the answer for almost every local service business — frequent enough that something current is always showing, infrequent enough that you can sustain it for years.
The real question is not frequency. It is how to keep producing posts in month fourteen when the novelty has worn off.

Why weekly
Posts stop featuring prominently after roughly a week, so a weekly rhythm keeps something fresh in the listing at all times. It is also the cadence most owners can actually maintain, which matters more than any theoretical optimum.
- Less than monthly — the profile reads as neglected, and you lose the conversion benefit entirely
- Monthly — better than nothing, but there is dead space most of the time
- Weekly — the sweet spot for effort against return
- Two or three times a week — worthwhile in retail, restaurants, and events where offers change constantly
- Daily — diminishing returns for a service business, and unsustainable
The batching method
Do not post weekly. Publish weekly, but create monthly. Sit down once a month with the photos your crews took, write four posts in forty minutes, and schedule them. Trying to think of something every Monday morning is why most profiles go quiet by month three.
Where the content comes from
Your crews are already generating it. Set up a shared album or a group chat where anyone can drop a job photo. That single habit is the difference between a profile full of real work and one full of stock images.
- Before and after shots
- A tricky install, with one line about what made it tricky
- New equipment or a new vehicle
- A certification or licence renewal
- A seasonal problem you are seeing repeatedly this month
A twelve-month rhythm
Seasonality writes half your calendar for you if you let it. In Central Florida that means storm and hurricane prep from June, freeze protection in January, humidity and mold questions in late summer, and holiday hours in November and December. Map those to the months and you only have to invent the other half.
What to skip
- Generic motivational content — nobody hires a contractor because of a quote graphic
- Reposting the same stock image with different text
- Long posts. Most of the text is truncated in the listing.
- Posts with no photo
- Posts with no call-to-action button
How to tell whether it is working
Profile insights show views, searches, calls, and direction requests. Post consistently for ninety days and compare that quarter to the one before. You are looking for calls and direction requests, not post views — post views are a vanity number.
If ninety days of weekly posting produced no movement in calls at all, the problem is almost certainly upstream: category, reviews, or services data. Posting cannot fix those.
