How Much Does Google Business Profile Optimization Cost?

One-time optimization typically runs $300 to $900 per profile. Ongoing management runs $300 to $800 per profile per month. Our own rate is $497 per listing per month, which includes the review engine and monthly link building.

The wide range comes down to one thing: whether reviews and content are part of the deal or just the profile fields.

One-time optimization: what it should include

A one-off build-out is a real deliverable and worth paying for if you will maintain it yourself afterwards.

  • Category research against ranking competitors, and primary category set correctly
  • Every service written out individually with its own description
  • Products module populated
  • Business description written to 750 characters
  • Service areas mapped to where you actually dispatch
  • Hours, holiday hours, and every applicable attribute
  • Twenty or more real photos, geo-tagged, plus a logo and cover
  • Q&A seeded with genuine buyer questions and answered
  • Name, address, and phone standardized, duplicates merged
  • Core citations built and cleaned

That is roughly six to ten hours of skilled work. Priced under about $250, something on that list is not happening.

Monthly management: what changes

Optimization is a state. Management is a habit. The monthly fee buys the activity signals that keep a profile climbing.

  • Weekly Google Posts
  • Fresh geo-tagged photos and short video every month
  • Review requests going out continuously to real customers
  • Every review answered within 48 hours
  • Q&A monitoring and new answers
  • Geo-grid rank tracking across your service area
  • Monthly citations and backlinks pointed at the profile and its landing page
  • Competitor monitoring and a monthly report

Why per profile, not per business

Each location is a separate profile with its own categories, photos, reviews, posts, and rank tracking. Six locations is six times the work, which is why per-listing pricing is the honest structure and why bundles for multi-location businesses usually come with a discount.

Is it worth paying for?

For a local business with a physical location or service area, the profile is usually the fastest-returning thing you can spend money on. It moves in weeks rather than months, and it feeds the map pack, which is where most local buying decisions get made.

The honest exception: if you have the time and discipline to post weekly, request reviews after every job, answer every review, and refresh photos monthly, you can do this yourself. Most owners genuinely intend to and then do not, which is what the fee is really buying.

What to check before you pay anyone

  • Ask whether reviews are included or extra — this is the biggest hidden variable
  • Ask how many posts and photos per month, in numbers
  • Ask whether they use geo-grid tracking or a single-point rank check
  • Ask to see a sample monthly report from a real client
